What does "Ekklesia" Mean?
Our English word church is the translation of the Greek word ekklesia. Ekklesia means the “ones who are called out.” This is what the church is - the people, the Christians - the ones who have been called out of this world to be His own special people.
The church is not an institution or an organization of men, but a worldwide fellowship of people who have a common faith in Christ as Lord and Savior. When a person is saved, he is added to the church, and he should then locate himself within a local congregation of fellow Christians. We must join together with others in His church to form congregations which will carry out His work - His worship - His witness!
We are so thankful you’ve chosen to worship with this ekkesia! Our goal here is to be a Biblically-functioning community of believers growing deeper through worship, larger through evangelism, stronger through discipleship, warmer through fellowship, and broader through ministry.
